Many of us in the B2B demand generation space are targeting the same companies: Global 2000, Fortune 1000, and Fortune 500/100/50.
In other words, large companies with complex problems, multiple functional areas, and global operations ripe for us to solve problems for.
In Marketo, though, you need to filter these firms out to do three things:
- Score leads who match from these firms.
- Route these high value leads over to sales
- Segment these leads for nurturing, dynamic content, or whatever.
And wow is it painful to copy and paste that list in from Hoover’s or other databases. So here you are, the lists, in an easy to copy format. Many thanks to Jason Long for the Fortune 500 list and for reminding me to find my files :).

Do you have a lite of Top fortune 100/500/100 companies in the DC area in a excel spreed sheet format?
Josh Hill says
Hi there. I only have the 2011/12 list in a spreadsheet. It’s for the entire world. I’m sure you could sort it by HQ location. You may be able to find a list with more info on Hoover’s or Fortune if you poke around a bit on google.
Vivek says
Hi, Do you have a list of number of employees for each of the top FT-1000 companies?
Josh Hill says
No, I’m sorry I don’t. If you have access to Hoover’s, InsideView, Data.com you should be able to obtain that.

I don’t think your downloads include HQ / Location, what would you advise? I’m looking for the most time efficient way of getting this in Excel, not trying to do any manual data entry myself. I’ve had no luck yet, but I would imagine this has to be publicly available somewhere on the intertubes…
Josh Hill says
No, I wasn’t able to gather the HQs and other details. You can poke around to see if someone has it or if a friend can send it to you. Otherwise you’ll have to get Hoover’s. Another possibility is to visit your local library or University Library – they usually can pull this for you.

Do you happen to have the Updated 2014 Fortune 2000 List ? (May 2014)
Josh Hill says
Hi Ray,
No I don’t have the updated list. Good idea for me to get a hold of it though. Thanks for the reminder.
Sharjeel Durrani says
Hi Josh – do you have more recent versions of this list? Thanks!
Josh Hill says
sorry, I do not. It’s from 2010 or 2011 I think. Been meaning to find and post a new one.
